Ponder, ponder, ponder…

So, I’m sitting here wondering how it got to the end of the year so quickly.

I remember many of us thinking (way back in January) that there was another year ahead that was going to take it’s own good time to get us through it… . Well, be careful what you wish for as they say!

Here we are at the beginning of December and most of us planning to take leave in the next few weeks, and I (for one), am dumbstruck by the feeling of “What, only how many days left till I go on leave?!”.

That’s not to say it hasn’t been a full and busy year, it’s been go-go-go since day one and it’s still buzzing!

Hey, at least (most of us…) have been kept out of mischief!

Anyone else wondering how we got here so soon?…

It is freaking me out that another year has come and gone again. They say that as you get older the years fly even quicker. I just think that our lives are so fast paced and there is soooo much to do, that we let the days go by without even blinking. Whenever we get to this time of year we always question what we have done and where the months went to?

I am feeling exactly like that. It has been such a whirlwind year for me - there have been so many wonderful things that have happened. I got married and made a career move and started working at Avo. Things have really not been dull! It is a year that I will be sad to say goodbye to - I haven’t felt that way in a few years. I am so looking forward to having a good rest and coming back ready to face another wonderful year packed with adventures, fun and good, old hard work.

I think that we all need to live each day to the full in 2008 and appreciate every day that we have, so that we don’t hit this time of year next December and ask the same questions.

Yes - I concur with it all! It has been go go go and I am not sure that any other pace exists.

I think that my New’s Year’s resolution will be to do a better job of managing my expectations around this. Some phrases that come to mind…

There is only one speed and that’s full speed ahead!

If you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the porch! (that’s a stoep for you South Africans, tee hee)
