A new decade dawns
Published by yojules January 14th, 2008 in GeneralI’m 40! I had my actual birthday! I have walked, quite fearlessly this time, into another decade of my life!
I know a lot of people fear this particular milestone - it can have all sorts of connotations about moving into a different life stage (with all the accompanying mid-life crises to go with it). But not me. I’m feeling completely stoked about it!
I have bored most of my colleagues, friends and anyone else who will listen with what this new decade means for me, so now I am resorting to putting it in writing for all of cyberspace to bear witness to. This is the decade where I take every lesson that I have ever learned in the past, and apply it with courage and luck to building the legacy of what I know will become my life’s work: This decade I build Footprint!
All the hocus-pocus things seem also to herald that this is a time of significance for me, and that I should harness the energy and blessings the universe is sending me this year, and so I’m ready. Terrified, but ready! I spent the better part of the past 2 years thinking and planning and talking about this, and I promised myself and my colleagues that I would begin in January. Imagine my surprise when I walked back in to the office on 3 Jan, only to find a request for proposal waiting on my desk: the challenge in the RFP speaks exactly to what Footprint would be able to deliver! So we’ve sent off the RFP, and await the feedback for when we get to present next week. Whether or not we manage to take on this particular piece of work, I know that this company is meant to be, and that everything is lining up to make it successful!
So bring on the 40’s. I’m so ready!
Purpose
Building and delivering training solutions that empower people with skills and insight to make better choices and live bigger lives. Being brave enough to take on the challenges at a scale that makes a significant impact in SA and beyond

Look out South Africa. A determined 40 year old woman with wisdom and confidence on her side and above all, the ‘calling’ and talent to empower not only herself but the woman of South Africa in whom she so powerfully believes. How can Jules not succeed?!
You go girl! We are so proud of you! 2008 is the beginning of the decade of your life!
There is a strong feeling in the air that this is the year of Footprint! Jules, it’s glaringly obvious…you’re as ready as you’ll ever be to cast your footprint in 2008! Time to take this dream into the next dimension…
I want to thank you for allowing your dream, to become my dream, and that of so many other people… we’re rearing to go… right beside you sister-girl!
Jules - I remember you speaking about your ‘Footprint,’ idea over a year and a half ago and getting all goose bumpy! I am so happy to see that all of your vision, passion and tenacity is going to be put to work on an RFP. This is the start of big things!
I am also watching you closely for very selfish reasons - I will be reaching this particular milestone this year so I am going to live vicariously through you in the meantime and hope that some of your positivity and courage rubs off on me!
xx
Footprint will be such a powerful, uplifting and empowering company once it’s up and running.
I think the people who are going to be involved are as yet quite unaware just how life changing for them it will be.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you change people’s lives Jules.
xxx
What a marvellous future that lies ahead! I can’t wait to hear how much this venture enriches many many lives.
May this year hold much joy and happiness for you. May your dreams and desires find fruition this year. I wish you strength, wisdom and good fortune. May FOOTPRINT be all that it should be….be it change lives.
Happy Birthday Jules! May this next decade bring you even more succeses and may many deserving people benefit from your endeavours.
You and I both know that when Jules puts her head to something, it’s bound to materialise. You mentioned turning things to gold the other day. Well, heres an open invitation to the world(yes the world!) to watch as we actually build a piece of GOLD! Anyone coming along for the ride???????
I am happy for you and I know this will be a sucess because this has been a life long dream for you. For as long as I have known you this is what you have spoken about. Your purpose in life and it is finally here. this is year 200grt, meaning this is a year for great things and if you miss the wave, you will be missing out on the ride of your life. Good Luck on Footprint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Jules
You never cease to amaze and inspire me! For many of us, what you achieved already is nothing short of spectacular! A fabulous whacky cutting edge empowering training space! Now you take another leap! Watch out world! The impact that footprint will make in the lives of South African women will be something for you be deeply proud of…happy women, happy children, nation building as it is meant to happen: one person, one family at a time.
Those of us who aren’t such hocus pocus chicks will be praying for blessings too! the gift is huge and with your vision being wide as the African Sky, I can already feel the rain clouds coming!
Love Tracy
