In Memory of Katy

It is very rare in this life that you find someone who lives their life serving others so selflessly and faithfully.

Life, these days, is after all about me - what I can achieve my success, my prosperity, how clever I am, how much I can do.  Yet every now and then a person is born who is different, who understands that we are here to serve others, to give of ourselves unselfishly and continuously.

Katy Sibanda was such a person. A gentle soul, with a quiet spirit who lived quietly, serving others with a caring heart and a loving smile.  Katy has for years been part of the Newton family, the backbone, the Mommy and the Daddy when Grant and Jules were out working. Looking after Jono, David and Kevin, nursing their bruises, wiping their tears, feeding hungry tummies, loving them as if they were her own.  Jules and Grant knew that as long as Katy was there the world was all right.  Their home and their children were cared for and loved.

Now today Katy is no more, her quiet spirit, her gentle soul and her loving heart has moved on to peace.  The Newtons have lost a member of their family, Noma and Lesley have lost a Mom, and the world has lost a giver of love.

This morning Katy passed away. Noma, Lesley, Jules, Grant, Jono, David and Kevin we are sorry for your loss.  To the extended Sibanda family we mourn your loss with you; you are in our thoughts and prayers.

My greatest sympathy, goes to all the Sibanda’s. May the good lord bless you with strenght and wisdom in these dificult times. For all of us who are touched by this loss, be strong for the ones who need us the most. God Bless. May your soul rest in peace.

Thanks, Elaine, for your words. I was finding it so hard to say them myself. Kate has been the ‘other mother’ in my life for so long, I can’t get used to her not being there.

Katy, I will always remember you with love and a smile: your commitment to our family and our company has enabled me to do the things I have, because I have known my life was safe with you. Bless you for your love.

Noma, Lesly, and Mama Sibanda: please know how much your mother and daughter loved you, and wanted the best for you. Girls, she is so proud of what you are achieving, and I know is already telling Thienjie everything she’s missed since she’s been gone.

    Go peacefully, mum Kate.

Oh my friend, your loss is so enormous. May you feel the love and support from all around you and may you and your family look back on this time you have had with your Kate with a smile in time to come. She is still with you and will guide you to making the right choice for your next new member of the family.
    All love,
    Gxx
