Having known Shan for almost 40 years and after talking a lot about the possibility of Shan writing her memoirs, I had the utmost pleasure in actually having her book in my hands and what a pleasure it was. It brought back many memories of the couple of times we were actually in each other's presence and also of the three years I spent in South Africa. I can only recommend the book.

I am looking forward to reading Shanthee's book. A very powerful photograph for the Mail and Guarduan supplement! Well done to all those involved in contributing to the launch of Shanthee's memoir.

What a spectacular achievement, Shanthee. The book is moving, magnificent and filled with a poignance that we all can relate to. What a priviledge it was to have attended the launch in Durban and JHB.
