I had a similar conversation with a mate who had been at the Endeavour Entrepreneurs' Conference in the US recently: when the famous entrepreneurs were asked in panels what their biggest challenges were, they all had the 'people' factor as the toughest issue.

Even in Avo, when I think about what takes most of my focus and energy, it's trying to work the people, to varying degrees of success, and trying to manage myself through that process!

People stuff is HARD! And don't let anyone tell you its not a critical part of what we need to learn to manage!

It's funny Rachel, that in the industry we refer to these as the soft skills. I heard a trainer saying the other day, no-way, there is nothing soft about these skills: they are a lot harder than most people think. Engaging people effectively or interacting with them well or managing your people competently all require such depth of capability in the area of human interaction. I'm glad we can do this and we certainly need to stay out there and continue doing what we do.
