During difficult times, it’s easy to lose sight of anything other than pure survival.  What many companies did was to simply employ more staff to fill the gaps of the previously retrenched, but to thrive in the current economical state you can’t just shove numbers into an organisation, you need quality employees and the managers need to develop these employees to their full potential.
