Late last year we got involved in an exciting project: working with Broadreach Healthcare, we trained 30 HIV practitioners in a train-the-trainer programme. We equipped them to train a further 900 ‘mobilisers’ in stage 2 of the project which we ran with our brother company Ngikwazi.

Those 900 mobilisers were then deployed into their communities across South Africa to educate South Africans about many aspects of HIV and AIDS. Our Ngikwazi team tracked their progress using world class cell phone technology which gave all of us a live view of the progress of those mobilisers across the country.

The results have astounded everyone involved in the project. The ambitious target set was reaching 130 000 people from November to April this year. What actually happened was that the project has managed to reach over 507 000 South Africans within that timeframe!

I am so incredibly proud of everyone who has been part of this piece of work, both within our own companies, and across the sponsor organisations and field organisations that have been part of it’s success. Together, we have been able to make an incredible impact. We’re proudly building South Africa on person at a time!

After months of fighting for her qualification, Jeanette received her results.  And they show that her blood, sweat and tears have really paid off.  With the amazing results of her new qualification, Jeanette walks away smiling.

Her go-getter attitude is what helped her accomplish this and we at Avo have benefitted graciously through the application of her knowledge.
