Jules Newton started Avo in 1996 to meet the ever-increasing need that business has to manage the ‘people connections’ space. As we move out of the information economy and into the Connection Age, the need for people to achieve mastery in their interpersonal relationships has never been more key.
Where before, only sales people were really expected to be good at that stuff, it has now become a business imperative that managers, project workers, knowledge workers, call center operators (We could go on here, but you get the point) all develop the skill of building better relationships. Avo brings a refreshing and innovative angle to helping people connect more effectively.
Avo helps people understand the communication moment more deeply and communicate more effectively. We operate through many media, including training programmes with small groups, coaching interventions, conference talks, and large-scale company interventions.
The chicks in charge
Juliet Newton now shares ownership of Avocado Vision with Elaine Sampson. Jules heads up the Strategic, Marketing and Product sections of our business, while Elaine runs Ops, Finance and NQF alignment. Avocado Vision is a BEE company.
Business Model
Avocado Vision operates as an intellectual hub: highly skilled, independent training specialists, coaches and consultants who are successful business people in their own right are licensed to operate as vendors of the products and services on offer. They are selected for their competence as presenters, speakers and coaches, and their natural ability to connect with, and inspire the people they come in contact with.
Then there’s the internal team of training specialists, support, and project management aces that make sure everything we tackle delivers on every level!
We pull together project teams to build appropriate learning solutions, depending on our client need. Key to our success is our highly skilled team with a very innovative and flexible approach to the solutions we provide our clients.
All of our training material is SETA approved, here is our certificate for you all to see.
We continue to evolve our work as our clients, many of whom are at the leading edge of innovation in their fields, teach us new things.
Oh, and in case you’re curious about our name (don’t worry, everybody is!), click here

NEWSFLASH: We just received our AAA+ Empowerdex BEE rating! We’re really proud to be part of the transformational story of this country, and will continually work to be a part of building this nation!
We are so proud of our rating that we want you all to see, check it out here.
