Hey Avos and Bangani… let me tell you mgozi (gossip). I took Rae to a TFMC meeting ne…. with the rest of the Call Center management team to let them know about the Persuasive Conversation course we will be running for the 60 agents and then we will do the rest of the 500 managers….(the last part is a wish, a prayer, a dream that I will make sure comes true.)
I suggested that Rae should do the first part of the presentation…. she just said “what? nnnnnnnnooooooo.” in response I said “oh yes”, and the rest was history.
Bethuna…. You should have seen her!!!!!! Yes at first she was nervous…. that’s fine I did not panic cause I did not think she would be bad even though she is new at this, I really believed in her…… And then right before my eyes she exploded……. it was like she just became taller…. more beautiful…. more knowledgeable…. And before I knew it she had all of them eating out of the palm of her hands. I swear I thought she was about to take off…. she was flying.
Hey bangani!!! It’s amazing what happens when you get in touch with the power within. When you reach in and touch that special piece of you and fly.
This chick rocks…. they are very happy with us and now they really can’t wait for the training. They loved us we love them. This is in the essence of the word, a love affair!
Rae….. she was great and definitely performed better than what I thought she would.
Raelene Rorke Rocks! She Rocks!!!
Avo Rocks but SSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH remember don’t tell any one… this is umgozi, we give people the chance to be the best they can be.

I am a firm believer that staff members need inspiring leadership to succeed and be the best they can be. The way you are communicated to, the way you are dealt with when you make a mistake and the way you are encouraged to take up new opportunities.
Jules (The Boss Chick) encouraged me to write an article about what I do here at Avocado Vision. She said “you have an inspiring story, so share it” and that’s it, I was hooked…. I felt big and inspired…. I felt empowered by the fact that she thought I was inspiring. It’s in the way she said it, but also the encouragement, the respect and honor that she displayed that really inspired me to write this article. So I hope the readers are inspired by it too.
I guess that’s why we are in the business of communication. Because life has taught us that it’s about understanding people and knowing what each of them need in order to find their internal power. I love what I do and I love Avo, try us you will love us too.
Peace
Seven years ago it was declared that I would never have kids unless I have an operation to unblock my tubes, but after a lot of prayers and meditation, drinking some African herbs the miracle happened, I conceived. Then my bubble of joy was brutally burst when I miscarried at 4 and half weeks, yep, my miracle left my body on that dreadful Monday morning. Life for a moment became surreal, I just sat there bleeding… I knew I was losing my baby.
I just knew it. I did not want to believe it, I tried keep saying positive things to myself like “women bleed during pregnancy” or “I am a strong woman, I am keeping my baby”, think positive Sego, think positive! But I knew my baby was leaving my body and I went into deep pain.
It’s been two weeks now and when I reflect on it, I am still angry, still in pain, sad and feeling guilty, but I am also grateful to Avo…. Firstly for teaching me that being a Red personality I tend to hold back my pain and try and be strong even when I know I am feeling venerable, and that in my pain I might just shut some people out and not allow them to support me. So during this period I allowed people to support me which helped me recover quicker.
Secondly for all the SMS’s and phone calls from my colleagues, its amazing what words of support and wisdom can do for you when you are in this kind of state, it really brings light and love. I am grateful that courses we do at Avo do not only assist in enhancing working relationships in business but also powerfully impacts our personal lives.
To Vanessa and Jules (Training Manager and M.D.)… for such amazing support, and for all your phone calls and sms’s, my family is amazed that companies who offer emotional support to their staff members actually do exist. I felt loved and taken care of, and love coming from your bosses always feels far more amazing, as you know they are doing it not because they have to but because they choose to.
These really are two amazing woman I work for.
To My family and friends…..my husband rushed to me with his friend Boyo and my brother was there in less than 10 minutes. They drove me to the clinic and stayed there with me all the time. For a week I was surrounded by my mom, my sisters, my nephews and nieces. Friends prayed with me and sent me so much love, I was amazed.
I have two reasons why I am sharing my pain with the rest of the world : is that I would like to encourage you to work on your emotional intelligence by exploring Avo courses.
And also to remember that life sends us wonderful challenges for various reasons. For me this was to remind me that miracles do happen, that I have a very strong support system and that I am a very strong and powerful woman.
“Fear!!! do not even think of entering my mind, I conquer”
Okay, Okay, I know I have been with Avo for five months now and no blog until now, but finally, after a long wait… HERE IT IS!
But guys - I work for Avo, and here at Avo on your first day you are already flying without wings.
I have already facilitated many training sessions and I am preparing to start with my very own first client. One thing’s for sure I am happy that I am here; Avo is a very different space, in the common corporate world when an employee has personal issues they are told to keep it separate from their work, but here in Avo people love crawling to work, because they know they are going to be supported and nourished until they are back at optimum level again.
I come from a Call Centre Management background were I worked myself from Call Centre Agent to Call Centre Senior Executive. I have done a lot of training in my lifetime and enjoyed it fully, so that’s why I am back. Anyway I am feeling a little tired from writing this vvvvveeeeerrrrrryyyyy long blog. I am personality type “Red” – driven and motivated, I do bullets! Not this, IN and OUT.
